The Beginning

Hardy Saul was founded in 1985 in the heart of the Cotswolds, England. What began as a small antique shop in a charming stone cottage has grown into a beloved destination for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage decorative plates from around the world.

Our founder, Margaret Hardy, had a vision: to preserve the artistry of traditional ceramic craftsmanship and share these beautiful pieces with homes across the globe. Her passion for hand-painted designs and her eye for exceptional quality established the foundation of what Hardy Saul represents today.

Our Philosophy

At Hardy Saul, we believe that every plate tells a story. Whether it's a delicate floral pattern from the English countryside, a bold nautical design from coastal Portugal, or a festive holiday scene from a German workshop, each piece carries with it the heritage of its maker and the tradition of its origin.

We curate our collection with care, seeking out plates that exemplify:

  • Exceptional Craftsmanship - Hand-painted details and quality materials
  • Timeless Design - Patterns that transcend trends and generations
  • Cultural Heritage - Designs that celebrate traditional artistry
  • Sustainable Beauty - Vintage pieces that reduce waste and last lifetimes

Our Collection

Today, Hardy Saul offers a diverse collection of vintage decorative plates, each carefully sourced and authenticated. Our specialties include:

"Every meal deserves a beautiful setting"
