Standard Plate Sizes
| Plate Type | Diameter | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Dinner Plate | 26-28 cm (10-11") | Main courses, formal dining |
| Side Plate | 19-20 cm (7.5-8") | Bread, appetizers, desserts |

How to Measure
To measure a plate, place a ruler or measuring tape across the center from one edge to the other. For vintage plates, there may be slight variations in size due to the handmade nature of the pieces.
Setting Your Table
A complete place setting typically includes:
- Dinner plate - Center of the setting
- Salad plate - To the left of the dinner plate, or on top
- Side plate - Above the forks, for bread
- Display plates - As wall art or table centerpieces
Care Tips by Size
Smaller plates (under 20cm): Perfect for everyday use and easy to store in standard kitchen cabinets.
Medium plates (20-26cm): Versatile for daily dining. Stack carefully to avoid chipping.
Large plates (26cm+): Store flat or use plate hangers for display. Handle with extra care due to weight.
